OVERVIEW
OF EXPERTISE
Personnel Management:
·
Contractor oversight
on EPA cases in Deer Lodge Montana, Phoenix Arizona, and Dallesport
Washington ensuring timelines were met, and site safety protocols were
established and followed.
·
Trained shallow
water pump teams in Gulfport Mississippi during the Deep Water Horizon
disaster. Responsible for establishing roles of personnel, site safety
procedures, and asset deployment schedules.
·
Managed and trained
two new safety and environmental health vessel inspectors from 2011 thru
2013 ~ ensuring they had the skills and knowledge necessary to provide the
Coast Guard fleet with complete and accurate safety assessments.
·
Successfully guided
and evaluated the administrative personnel at the Pacific Strike Team
(National Hazmat Response team) through numerous deployments (including the
Deepwater Horizon case) while spending approximately 120 days per year in
the field responding to EPA and Coast Guard Cases providing multiple
services; such as site safety, medical support, case management, and
hazardous material clean-up.

Responded to SARA
and CERCLA cases being monitored by the EPA
Safety Program Management:
·
Provided safety
plans and safety oversight for staging sites and operations during the
Katrina and Deepwater responses, along with over 10 other smaller disasters
and hazardous material clean-up responses within the United States and U.S.
territories between 2004 and 2011.
·
Aided various Coast
Guard Unit types (Boat stations, Air stations, Industrial facilities, and
Ships) with developing and or the enhancement of written safety
instructions ranging from blood borne pathogens to power industrial trucks.
·
Established a
Motorcycle Safety Foundation training course at the base in Portsmouth Virginia
to ensure our personnel had the opportunity to receive the required
training. The performance of this training in-house saved the Coast Guard
over 10,000.00 dollars annually when compared to the cost of contracting
the training externally.
·
Developed and
presented numerous safety-related training programs for a variety of U.S.
Coast Guard Unit types.
·
Conducted Sound
Level Surveys, air quality sampling for industrial settings, lead and
asbestos testing and program management.
OSHA Compliance:
·
12 years experience
in providing OSHA compliance inspections to a variety of U.S. Coast Guard
units. Providing units with timely feedback, and corrective actions to meet
or exceed the standards set by OSHA, ANSI, NFPA, and ACGIH.
